The Austin Dance Festival needed to elevate their brand identity and increase exposure in order to be competitive with already established dance festivals. While their first festival was a success, they came away from it without any professional photos or video documentation. Heading into their second event, one of their marketing goals was to create a digital presence that would showcase all the ways their festival is unique. They needed an expert to create performance archival documentation, photography, and video in order to market their festival for years to come.

Swng was hired by Austin Dance Festival founder, Kathy Dunn Hamrick, for the second year of the festival and began a total overhaul of the company’s digital presence. Using professional photos and video of the dancers in rehearsal and performance spaces, Swng creatively captured the details and qualities that make the Festival unique.
With a timely turn-around, ADF launched their marketing campaign and saw excellent growth. They launched their Instagram account and quickly grew from zero followers to more than a thousand. They also saw a dramatic increase in social media engagement as dancers and companies shared the photos on social media. With a stronger digital presence, Austin Dance Festival had a large increase in ticket sales for the following year’s event.
